Huh. Never underestimate Alliance’s handguns. The M-11 Suppressor is a work of art.

“Among other things,” Aria adds vaguely. “Yes, well. That’s what they tend to be good at. Talking. I wouldn’t be fooled by the whole bartender ruse, Shepard. She might seem different from the others, but from my experience, there’s no such thing as a retired Matriarch.”

She smirks again as she pours herself a glass of wine. “And what’s this? Chatting up asari bartenders and keeping up with rumours on the strip? Sounds like our supposed-to-be saviour is having herself a good time.”

She grimaced. “Don’t call me that.” The mere title inspired little more than guilt, despair and disgust within her. “I just helped clear up a problem Matriarch Aethyta had and she gave me a free drink. That’s all.” Sitting there for about an hour listening to the spirited Matriarch had been unexpected, but not unwelcome.

Warily, she eyed the crowd. “Not having a good time, honestly. As for the rumors, well… What can you do with a socialite sister and two teenage Asari nieces who insist on telling you every aspect of their lives?”

Aria shrugs. “So it’s not something you can help, then. But who knows. Speaking from a practical standpoint, what they have to say with the happenings around here could come in handy eventually, especially given the Citadel’s recent track record of being a warzone. Consider them an extra pair of eyes, hm?”

She takes a long sip from her drink before tipping the wineglass towards Shepard and addressing the human again. This whole exchange amused her. Here she was, Aria T’loak, criminal lord of the Terminus Systems, conversing with…Commander Shepard. Shepard, the human with enough achievements under her belt to rival even those who have lived five times as long, who was also so naive and young and disgustingly selfless to the point where she wouldn’t accept mere honorary titles. “And that’s too bad, Shepard. The whole saviour title’s never going to leave you alone. Better get used to it.”

Anonymous — “Seen the score in the arena? What's the matter, Aria? Didn't strike me as the type to settle for second place.”

Oh, please. It’s not settling for second if it’s common knowledge that there’s a bug with the arena that Barla Von’s been exploiting.

ooc.

Hello, all. Yes, I’m still alive, no I haven’t gone on hiatus.

Ok I lied this message is mostly for lostlittleshepard

I haven’t disappeared on you, I’ve just been swamped with University work.  Three term papers due and two term projects is really killing my time to RP. I’ll get back to replies as soon as I’m all done (probably sometime next week though OTL), so I hope you can wait, or we can start up another thread later!

Let me guess, there’s only one rule on the Citadel?

“Perhaps. But I’ve had enough of both of their likes for the time being. And despite all the time I’ve been rumoured to spend in the Arena, I do have my hands busy with other things.”

Her brow raises at the other’s minor stutter. “Colourful is the word I’d use. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised you know her, considering everything you’ve been involved with.”

“Like rebuilding and managing an army…” She crossed her arms loosely over her chest. “More like she called me over to a bar she was tending to and proceeded to chat my ears off.” The unconventional Matriarch was one of the few Asari that didn’t incite uneasiness in Shepard. “Colorful… Yeah. Good description.” Especially considering the stories Aethyta regaled her with.

“Damn. No wonder you’ve been blowing the shit out of everything in the Arena. Rumor has it that you’re there almost every day.”

“Well what else is there to do around this damn place? There’s enough downtime between reports for me to be amused by some of the shit that goes down over by the Arena. The asari matriarch there…she’s a riot.”

“If you weren’t rebuilding, I’d suggest putting your commando skills to good use against Cerberus and Reaper forces. Maybe that’ll amuse you for a while longer. M-Matriarch Aethyta? Yeah, she’s pretty fun…”
